    • Lydia will be sending out an invite via email to all members to make sure they know to be in attendance for this.
  • North Clackamas Chamber is hosting a mayor’s State of the City address
    • Event is 1/27/10 11:30am-1:!5pm
    • HVBA has purchased a corporate table (8 seats)
    • 5 seats are currently filled, the rest are now first-come-first-served
  • Boy Scouts 100-year Celebration Breakfast
    • Steve Campbell invited us to attend the celebration given that the city is a sponsor of local scouting
    • Event is 2/4/10 7:15am at the Portland Art Museum
    • There will be a carpool meeting at City Hall at 6am
    • Lydia proposed a $150 donation from the HVBA, which was approved by board vote. This should cover the donation of any HVBA members who wish to attend, though they are encouraged to donate as well.
  • New Mover Welcome Packets
    • The proposed packets are coming along nicely and should be ready to be handed out soon. They will include:
      • Letters from the HVBA and the Mayor
      • A Business Directory
      • Small ads from local businesses (we will be collecting these soon)
      • A fridge magnet with local utilities and services contact info
    • They will be delivered by hand to all new households moving into the City
      • This info will be obtained from title reports of new home sales
  •  We discussed new ideas to drive membership in the door
    • A $5 giftcard as a bonus for bringing a guest was discussed
      • Pros – Brings lots of people in
      • Cons – Doesn’t translate directly into memberships. Not the kind of stigma we are looking for.
    • Recognition for bringing a guest was discussed
      • During the intro section we will be asking people to introduce their guest
      • Pros – Lets our members get up in front of the group, generating exposure. Free.
      • Cons – We don’t have much extra time.
    • Testimonials during the kudos section
      • Discussed having some people do testimonials on what being in the HVBA has done for them.
      • Pros – Testimonials are one of the best forms of advertisement. Free.
      • Cons – Again, it takes time we might not have.
    • The board decided on recognition and testimonial options were our best choices.
  • Greeters for this month’s meeting are needed
    • Zandy volunteered to be the guest greeter.
    • Luke volunteered to be the table greeter.
  • Business Directory feedback
    • Some members have been reporting positive feedback from clients and residents about the business directory.
    • The City has been fielding a lot of calls for information regarding the directory and its members.
  • HVBA.biz website
  • We will be adding a link to community blood drives to the front page
  • The option to move website hosting to the city’s website/servers was brought up. We will be looking into this in the coming months as an option to reduce website update costs and perhaps increase our interactivity with the site.
