Proceedings

• Meeting was called at approx. 7:30am

• Upcoming speaker topics
  • February – Insurance Fraud
  • March – Media Coverage

• Upcoming budget meeting!
  • Meeting is April 8th at City Hall 8am - Noon
  • We will be going over all expenses for the next year and creating a budget
  • We will also be discussing options to change the membership fees to increase revenue to the HVBA
    • One idea is to have a flat fee of $100 for everyone
    • We may also discuss kickbacks from business licenses again.
  • Another topic will be the website.
    • We would like a new website, but this is a large-dollar project
    • There is an option to house the website as part of the City’s website

• HVBA Facebook site is now under construction!

• It has been decided to send Lydia to a Chamber Leadership conference which takes place in March.
  • This will be paid for by the HVBA with possible scholarship from the event

• Steve Campbell approached us with the idea of Co-Op sponsorships for upcoming events
  • We elected to run the shaved-ice machine at the 4th of July
    • The City will provide the booth and machine at no charge and we will split proceeds with the City

• There is a 4th of July Committee forming!
  • There is a need to look at changes in venue and scope of the event due to the expanding size of the festival and the small size of the current park
  • Steve is forming a committee to look at all options and help decide the direction of this festival
